I’m reminded of the age-old adage: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” But what about when life gives you a frivolous lawsuit from someone like “NB”? Well, I say, make a bloody good story out of it!
The “NB” Effect
Let’s face it, folks. Dealing with difficult people can be a real pain in the you-know-what. But sometimes, those same people can inadvertently become the catalysts for our growth, motivation, and – dare I say it – our greatest accomplishments.
Take “NB,” for instance.
Now we’ll make a note here: we’re calling this guy “NB” for confidential reasons. Although if you know me and any legal issues, looking up this guy and all his ‘accolades’ in court may make you do a double-take.
Let’s just say his lawsuit against me was about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Barely worth the effort, if I’m being honest, but you can’t deny the conversation it sparked was pure gold. I walked away with more than just skills – I gained a certain grit that comes from facing tough times head-on, and a robust sense of humor to boot.

A Trip to Vegas (and a Detour to Awesomeness)
I recently found myself in Las Vegas, one of my favorite destinations, and for good reason! The energy, the excitement, the endless possibilities – what’s not to love? And, as it happens, I was there for a court hearing related to Nathan’s lawsuit. Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Vegas, court hearing, sounds like a real blast, Joey!” But hear me out.
Preparing for the hearing, I experienced a strange coincidence – I was eerily close to where my daughter called home. A trip to her place was the obvious next move. Catching up with friends is always a thrill, but this time it was special – we vibed, joked, and savored the simplicity of good company. A welcome timeout from the lawsuit’s courtroom fray, this moment let me regroup and refocus on what’s truly important.
But the awesomeness didn’t stop there! During my recent visit, I squeezed in a lunch meeting with an old business buddy. We grabbed lunch and had an incredibly profitable conversation that made the entire trip worth it – lawsuit or not!
(Not to mention I cashed out big at Craps, too.)

One of the smartest things I’ve done recently was taking a different approach – and boy, am I loving the results! Facing NB’s lawsuit, I unexpectedly found myself rubbing my hands together, chomping at the bit to conquer this outrageous hurdle.
So, I’ve got this great new party trick: I’ve been sued by someone with way too much free time. Now I’ve got a juicy tale to share, right up there with my favorite stories of legal lunacy.
